5 Must have Android apps

The following are five must have apps for any Android device.

1. Titanium Backup
As someone who likes to try out all the custom roms for my Droid 2, Titanium Backup is an app I cannot live without. First off you must have root access to use this app. Titanium Backup allows you to backup, restore, and freeze your apps. If you ever have to do a factory reset

on your device or lose your data for any reason this app will save you a ton of time. First you must backup your apps then after the reset you need to download Titanium Backup again. Then you just click restore on the apps you want restored and viola they are back. This beats searching for and redownloading every app from the market.

2. Twidroyd
A must have app for any Twitter user. Twidroyd is a fast reliable Twitter app that blows the official Twitter app out of the water. It makes all the normal Twitter functions (tweet, retweet, direct message, etc.) quick and easy on a mobile device. One of my favorite things about Twidroyd is the ability to “retweet” and/or “retweet with comment”. Sometimes you just want to share what someone else has tweeted, and other times you want to put in your two cents. Live preview is another amazing feature that allows you to view pics and follower info without having to open a browser. Widget works great, and is very easy to use.

3. Live Scores
Sports fans rejoice this app has everyting you need. It has most major sports professional and college from football to racing to soccer. Sorry tennis fans. It makes finding the scores you want simple and fast; just select the sport and it lists all scores from that day. If you click on the game you can also view stats from that game. The widget shows you the scores for your favorite teams that you choose.

4. Tapatalk Pro
Tapatalk is a forum app that includes a wide range of forums. Instead of having an individual app for all the forums you frequent, you can access mostly all of them from Tapatalk. As a Droid 2 user I go to “droidforums” and “xda-developers” forums quite often when I have questions. I can access both of them with just a few clicks in Tapatalk. Also has a “Just In” feature which allows you to discover new forums.

5. Swarm Bittorrent Client
The only standalone bittorrent client worth using on the Android Market. It allows you to download on 3G, 4G, and WiFi. It has decent download speeds, not as good as utorrent on my computer though even when on WiFi. Have you ever been out and thought of something you wanted to download? Now you do not have to wait. If it had a port forwarding option I would rate it 5/5.
